Maine's Lakeside Haven
Tucked away in the beautiful woods of Maine, just steps from the water, you'll find the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn - the quintessential secluded Downeast Maine bed and breakfast inn. Surrounded by spacious lawns and gardens, the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn is the ideal location for an unforgettable lakeside wedding or other special event. In the 150-seat lakeside dining room, you and your guests will enjoy gourmet-dining featuring organic and locally-grown fare.
As one of the first Inns to be certified under Maine's Environmental Leader Program, the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn provides guests an opportunity to savor the beauty of nature in a retreat-like setting. The area supports a diverse wildlife population including loons, bald eagles, deer, beaver and even a passing black bear.
The Alamoosook Lakeside Inn is proud to be recognized by the Maine Department of
Environmental Protection as an Environmental Leader in the Hospitality Sector.
For over 45 years, the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn has been the resort destination of choice for both local New Englanders and discriminating travelers alike. Situated on four acres of beautiful wooded land in lovely Orland, Maine, the inn features six cozy rooms, each with a unique theme, and each opening up onto the sun porch overlooking the lake - what a perfect way to greet the day!
After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a day of sightseeing or simply swimming, fishing, or canoeing at our lake. The Inn is the perfect central location for visiting famous Maine tourist attractions in communities such as Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Blue Hill and Camden.
The Inn's location on the shores of Alamoosook Lake lets our guests enjoy nature at its best. We have crystal clear water, beautiful native pine trees and an astonishing array of wildlife. Since we have no light pollution you can see more stars than you ever thought existed. Because we so value the natural assets of this area, the management and staff of the Inn are committed to minimizing our impact on the environment.
You can read more about all that nature has to offer around the area on Innkeeper Gina's blog, "Lake Views". Gina, a former environmental scientist with the EPA, is enjoying her escape from Washington, DC and wants to share her everyday observations of nature's wonders with you.
