The Inn enjoys both the quiet life of an inland Maine lake and easy access to the splendor of Penobscot Bay and the Maine Atlantic coast. Situated in the heart of Downeast Maine, just off Coastal Route 1, this inn is located close to Bangor, Maine accommodations, and has the perfect central location for visiting famous Maine communities such as Castine, Blue Hill and Acadia National Park. Alamoosook Lakeside Inn is only 18 miles from three of Maine's larger cities: Bangor, Belfast and Ellsworth, Maine. |

Alamoosook Lake's peaceful habitat is home to a diverse wildlife population including loons, eagles, ospreys, cormorants, deer, otter, beaver and even a passing black bear. Many guests have said that it feels like being in the middle of a nature preserve! Enjoy our centralized location close to Acadia National Park, Penobscot Bay and many other exciting, nature viewing areas. In addition to wildlife watching Alamoosook Lake has great Maine fishing for bass, trout, pickerel and salmon. We have canoes and kayaks so that our guests can enjoy the lake and its wildlife. Also, unlike our famous frigid ocean waters, our lake is great for swimming! |
Fall foliage transforms the lake and surrounding hills into a blaze of colors reflecting off Alamoosook's tranquil shores. You can't find a more beautiful place to just relax and enjoy nature at its best. For the more adventurous you can kayak to the Craig Brook Fish Hatchery and tour the oldest hatchery on the East Coast or take a hike up Great Pond Mountain where you can see out to the ocean to the South and catch a glimpse of Mt. Katadan to the North. During the winter months, an escape weekend of ice skating, cross-country skiing, ice fishing or exploring the lakeside snowmobile trails is waiting for you. Groomed trails are right outside the Inn! We can even arrange for snowmobiles to be delivered right to the Inn through our partnership with Glenburn Snowmobile Rental. |
