Introduction
The 1774 Inn is a Georgian Colonial Inn on the banks of the Kennebec River, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and pictured on the DeLorme Maine Coast Map. This warm, hospitable home features period furnishings, queen-size beds, private baths, water views and fireplaces.
When you arrive, relax! Feel at home. Enjoy homemade food, take a stroll along the river, or use the Inn as a jumping off point for the many activities available in this area. There is a lot to do, or just do nothing if that's what your heart desires. We want you to feel a part of this historic Inn, and return again and again. If there is any way we can make your stay more enjoyable, let us know.

For weekly stays, the Antique Cape River Side Guest House on the banks of the Kennebec River has four bedrooms, two full baths and full kitchen.
There is no need to hurry to get out of bed, although a freshly brewed pot of coffee or tea is available for early risers. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of juice, fresh fruits, home-baked muffins, breads or a hot entree such as Maine blueberry pancakes with fresh bacon or sausage.
High ceilings and breezes off the Kennebec River are cool in summer, while winter sunlight floods through the large, handsome windows. And romance? What better way to spend an evening than sitting with a friend near one of our fireplaces. As you enter the Inn, we want you to feel the history of its time. (Yet, we've updated the Inn for the comforts of today.)

Built on a hill overlooking the winding Kennebec River, the original owner must have thought this a perfect place to raise a family and enjoy life. We couldn't agree more. For those perspective guests who own a boat, we have recently added a new dock and float for water accessibility.
We have a comfortable outside sitting area where guests can view the river's passing grace. The surrounding areas provide several full day's activities. Bath, the "City of Ships" and home of the Maine Maritime Museum, crowns the offering of commerce, antiques, crafts, and memorable dining.
If you are a traveler of time or just a curious soul looking for new stories to tell, Maine will, of course, satisfy all your requirements, but the 1774 Inn at Phippsburg will surpass them. The Inn's hosts, Joe and Debbie Braun, will be happy to share the history of the house and its surroundings.
