About The Inn and The Area...
The inn's gabled and dormered roof and bricks laid in Flemish bond indicate that it is one of the oldest structures in the neighborhood, dating to 1801. On either side of the inn and across Montgomery Street are charming historic Baltimore row houses, several of the same vintage as Scarborough Fair.
A block east on Montgomery, one can view the original cobblestone paving typical of the area in the 1800's. One bock further, the visitor who climbs the steps to Federal Hill is rewarded with the best panoramic view of the Baltimore Harbor.
Also nearby in the Federal Hill community are wonderful small bistros, quaint sops and the renowned Cross Street Market, where residents and visitors shop for fresh meats, produce and seafood.
Give your car a vacation and take a trolley tour, a carriage ride or the light rail for out-of-center-city destinations. Baltimore's Little Italy and historic Fells' Point are also just minutes away by regular taxi, water taxi for those prone to exercise the Inner Harbor footpath.
