Introduction
Welcome to the Mill Street Inn Bed and Breakfast
Here, the pineapple truly signifies welcome, and visitors to Cambridge will experience Maryland Eastern Shore hospitality at its finest at this grand, newly restored Victorian in the heart of the historic district. Designed by local architect J. Benjamin Brown and built in 1894 with timbers cut from the Davis farm. It opened for guests in July 2006. The innkeepers invite you to savor, with them, a moment from the past in their beautiful Queen Anne home.
Amenities
There are three elegant en suite rooms from which to choose. Two are named for the previous owners who grew up in the house. All are furnished with antiques and reproductions with guests' every comfort in mind, and each has a distinctly different flavor. Your guest room awaits you with fresh flowers, fine linens, fluffy towels, and specially milled soaps. Each has cable TV with a DVD player, an am/fm clock radio, and a hair dryer. We have Wi Fi for the guest who may need to conduct business while in Cambridge. The inn is centrally air conditioned.
On the first floor, our spacious common rooms include a large living room with fireplace, a den/sitting room with fireplace, and a parlor with fireplace, and books and games to lend. A full gourmet breakfast is served in our antique-filled dining room at a table set with fine china and silver. In beautiful weather, you may prefer to catch the river breeze and dine al fresco on the north porch.
All breakfasts begin with juice and fresh fruit in season followed by a hot entrée. A few among those are Eggs Florentine with Smoked Alaskan Salmon, accompanied by Grits Souffle; Crème Brulee French Toast with Brandied Peach Sauce; Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Fresh Berries in Season, and Country Link Sausages; or Eggs a la Jefferson with Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Grits Souffle, and Maryland Country Biscuits. For the early riser, coffee and tea are available by 7 o'clock. So are Jen's famous cinnamon rolls.
Afternoon tea is served daily. In warm weather, a pitcher of fresh lemonade or mint iced tea, accompanied by freshly baked cookies or other treats awaits guests on one of two screened porches. Once the weather turns cold, guests can enjoy an English Cream Tea, fireside, in one of the common rooms.

The Innkeepers
Your hosts are both native Marylanders. Both of us are retired educators, and more recently, retired organic growers and bakers for two farmers' markets. Our many years of firsthand experience in and knowledge of the area made it a comfortable and familiar place for us to settle. We are eager to share our experiences, both old and new, with you.
We invite you to experience, firsthand, our beautiful town and environs. Whether you are boaters, birders, or bikers, each season holds something special here on the Eastern Shore. Perhaps you would just like to get away for a weekend of luxurious pampering. Whatever your reason, we hope you will spend your time with us at the Mill Street Inn where you will find splendid accommodations and a heaping dose of Southern hospitality.
