This is the heart of Maryland, comprising five counties and Baltimore City whose features range from traditional horse country, pastoral farmland and productive vineyards to scenic Chesapeake Bay shoreline and Maryland's two largest cities.

Baltimore, the largest of the two, ranks as the state's number one destination. Smaller in size but hardly in attributes is Maryland's state capital of Annapolis - an historic city with an unparalleled nautical flavor. Visitors to Central Maryland who venture beyond these two cities will be amply rewarded. There's 120-year-old Savage Mill and Ellicott City, a 1772 mill town, and Ladew Topiary Gardens in Harford County. And that's just for starters!
