Introduction

Longwood Manor Bed & Breakfast - Brookeville, Maryland
"Hospitality is the trademark at Longwood."

Step back into gracious living at historic Longwood Manor. Built in 1817, Longwood resembles Mt. Vernon and was often visited by Thomas Jefferson and other notables. Founded by Thomas Moore, agriculturist and inventor of the first refrigerator, Longwood served as the home of Moore and his wife Mary Brooke. It's current owners, Bruce and Lynn Bartlett, present to the public Longwood Manor, a warm, elegant Bed & Breakfast which brings to life the historic charm of this extraordinary place.

Each room has been carefully appointed with attractive antique and antique styled furniture which calls to mind a time in which craftsmen prided themselves in their work. Fine Oriental rugs enhance the refinished oak and original yellow pine and heart pine wood floors. Antique accents are everywhere, whether it's the gold framed mirrors, the rich upholstery, or the inviting themes which flow through each room. Longwood Manor is located in historic Brookeville just 16 miles north of Washington, D.C. We're convenient to Washington, Baltimore, Frederick, Annapolis, Rockville and Columbia and can be reached from four major highways.

Take time to enjoy the area's nearby antique shops, golf courses, tennis courts, live theatre, winery tour and restaurants. There is easy access to the Metro and all of Washington's sights.

Enjoy the swimming pool set among towering old trees and stone terrace on spacious grounds.

Longwood Manor enjoys serenity on 2 acres on its Cul-de-sac amongst residential dwellings. The manor's boxwood lined circular drive leads to a well situated lighted parking lot ample for larger vehicles.
