Introduction

The Inn at the Canal is known locally as the Brady-Rees house. Built in 1868, the Brady-Rees house is listed on the Maryland and National Historic Registers. This beautiful home with its many fine architectural and decorative details was built as a result of a promise made by Henry Brady to his wife.

The Victorian Gothic style is best represented in town by this house. It is a two-and-a-half story, five bay wide dwelling with a beautifully etched transom light adorning the front entrance. Once inside you will find floor to ceiling windows and original hand painted and stenciled ceilings. We have added FREE High Speed Broadband wireless internet service.

Inn At The Canal-104 Bohemia Avenue-

Chesapeake City, Maryland
Established in 1987, the Inn at the Canal was
the first bed and breakfast in Cecil county
and the only one to boast an
antique shop on-site.

Take a romantic step back into history as you stroll down the streets of Chesapeake City, where you can turn back the hands of time and slip into the elegance and charm of our Upper Shore Heritage.

Inn at the Canal offers much more than a comfortable nights lodging and a mouthwatering breakfast. It offers a walk through history and a balm to the spirit. Nearby golf courses, state parks, and world class museums and gardens delight visitors of all ages. Chesapeake City is conveniently located between Baltimore and Philadelphia where you will find additional activities to interest you.
Located in the original milking room of the Inn is Al's antique shop called INNtiques.
Stone walls, original brick floor and deep set windows provide the perfect backdrop for displaying antiques. Antique enthusiasts will find oil lamps, country furniture, iron and tinware, tools, American pressed pattern glass and ironstone and Victorian china. Especially popular items are dried flower arrangements in antique containers. As a special thank you to our guests, folks staying at the inn will be given a discount on their purchases.
