Introduction

An 1850 Federal townhouse, The Federal Hill House Bed & Breakfast is one of the more prominent homes in the neighborhood. Adjacent to Federal Hill Park, which was an observation station to alert merchants that ships were arriving, and overlooks the Inner Harbor. The Park is ideal for walking and jogging or just looking at the water. Several times a year concerts are held in the park and it is an ideal site for watching fireworks on the 4th of July.

One of the best locations in Baltimore, the Federal Hill neighborhood overlooks the Inner Harbor and is a 10-15 minute walk to the Inner Harbor, Convention Center, Ravens football stadium, Camden Yards and most of Baltimore's attractions. The Light Rail and MARC train are within a 20 minute walk. The neighborhood boasts Cross Street Market which has fresh fish, flowers, butcher shops, as well as stalls with already prepared food. There are many good restaurants, a microbrewery, two marinas, health club and outdoor swimming pool.

The townhouse was purchased by the present owners in 1991 and renovated adding a new kitchen and bathrooms. The house is decorated in a traditional/modern style with large comfortable chairs where one can relax and unwind or read for hours. The House retains the original woodwork and pine floors. There is a working fireplace in the den on the first floor and a decorative fireplace in the dining room. The rear yard features a lovely garden that guest can enjoy in the nice weather.

This B&B offer one guestroom furnished with a king-sized bed, desk, comfortable chair, bookcase filled with interesting books. There is a full private bath attached to the room . A self-catered continental plus breakfast is included each morning. This home requires a minimum stay of 2 nights at all times. Parking is on street with a permit or in a garage a few blocks away.

About the Owners...

He is a financial advisor and has worked for a major brokerage company for over 20 years. He enjoys golf, power boating, gardening, cooking and meeting guests from all over the world. His wife runs "Marina Life", a central slip reservation service for boats. She was formerly in marketing for a national corporation and she enjoys travel, music and theater. She is fluent in Japanese and jogs in the park daily. Also in residence is their dog, a chocolate lab named Cally.
