Introduction
Hailed as "the friendliest inn in Lenox" by the popular international travel guide Lonely Planet, Walker House reflects nearly 200 years of American history, along with the lively imaginations of its two genial innkeepers, Peggy and Richard Houdek.
The inn has eight guest rooms named to honor favorite composers including Mozart, Beethoven and Verdi. Each is decorated with antiques and other adornments that invest it with a unique character. Several of the rooms have fireplaces and each has a private bath.
A fine grand piano and a friendly hearth immediately attract guests to the large parlor, and the sumptuous dining room is a favorite gathering spot for breakfast and afternoon tea. Guests also find the inn's Cinema, located in the library, irresistible for nightly screenings of sports events or one of the Cinema's more than 1,000 feature films and operas, projected on a screen that can be expanded to 12 feet wide.
The inn is situated near the center of charming Lenox Village, on three acres of landscaped gardens and wooded grounds. Walker House offers a peaceful haven for you to enjoy the year-round activities of the Berkshire mountains. Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra is just over a mile distant. Shakespeare & Co. have located just down the street from us.
