Introduction
Surrounded by over forty private acres,
The Maguire House beckons you to stop and stay awhile.
Built in 1764, this historic home was one of Ashburnham's first inns and remained a haven for travelers until 1898 when it became a private residence. Wishing to share the rich tradition that was first established in this beautiful home over two hundred years ago, we opened as a bed and breakfast in 1997.
Comfort prevails in our three enchanting guest rooms, each with a
queen-sized bed and private bath.Antique furnishings, oriental rugs,
fluffy down comforters, and handmade quilts enhance the old New England
charm.
The Maguire House complements all seasons. Whether shopping at the finest furniture outlets in New England, hiking the nearby state trails, downhill or cross-country skiing, visiting Cushing Academy, or simply getting away, let us indulge you.
A full New England breakfast with fresh fruit, homemade granola, specialty
breads, and a hot entree is served in the dining room or on the porch,
weather permitting.
We invite you to relax by a warm fire, stroll along the pristine lake, or simply rest on the porch enjoying the spectacular view of Mt. Monadnock and surrounding hills.
You'll see why so many guests want to stay forever!
