Grandma's Oh Boy! Waffles

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of flour
3/4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tbls. sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups milk

Sift dry ingredients. Melt butter and shortening together. Beat eggs and milk together, then add melted butter/shortening mixture and beat. Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Batter should be fairly thin; if necessary, add more milk. Bake in waffle iron. Recipe makes approximately 7-8 round waffles.
