Gloucester is located on Cape Ann, 30 miles northeast of Boston and is home to several distinctive B&Bs establishments. If you book a room in a Gloucester bed and breakfast in late May, you can partake of the annual Clam Chowdah Fest. This event features clam chowder made by the local restaurants, and the competition to be named the best is very keen. If you visit in June, you can listen to chamber music at the Rockport Chamber Music Festival. Tickets are around $30.00 for that event. After spending a relaxing morning at a Gloucester B&B or Gloucester inn, visit the nearby Cape Ann Historical Museum, which is filled with many seascape paintings done by local artists. A must-see while in Gloucester is, of course, whales, so take a whale watching tour on 7 Seas Whale Watch. The crew is helpful and informative. You will definitely be hungry after that so head out to the Topside Grill and Pub, which is on the waterfront and serves up a variety of foods, from pasta to steaks and seafood. Lobster lovers should definitely check out the Gloucester House Restaurant, also on the waterfront.
