Greenfield
Greenfield was first settled by the English in 1686 as part of Deerfield, it was attacked repeatedly by Indians, with the last skirmish in 1756. In 1753, Greenfield was set off and incorporated as a separate town, named for the Green River. It was the eastern terminus of the Mohawk Trail, a principal route for settlers traveling west into Upstate New York.

Greenfield is a residential community located at the cross roads of Interstate 91, Route 2 and the famous Mohawk Trail in Western Massachusetts, near where the borders of Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire meet. Greenfield is within a reasonable driving distance from Northhampton, Amherst, Deerfield and the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.
