Introduction

In 1760, Peabody Bradford, great-grandson of Plymouth Colony's Governor William Bradford, built a 5-room Cape house on the northern bank of the Jones River. Its dock, known as "The Landing", received and dispatched virtually all of the travelers, goods, and cattle, coming to or departing the town of Kingston. A century and a half later, the Bradford descendants enlarged the house and added a restaurant to accommodate travelers 1760 Peabody Bradford House - Kingston, Massachusetts

The Powell family has hosted a Bed and Breakfast at the Peabody Bradford Homestead for the past 26 years. Their guests, who come from every part of the world, enjoy the gently rolling grounds and the comfortable accommodations at the 1760 Bradford House. Its location makes for memorable visits to historic Plymouth and Duxbury and is ideal for day trips to Cape Cod, the Islands, Newport, Boston, Gloucester, and beyond.

Enjoy a delicious continental breakfast each morning in the sunny, pleasant dining room.
Relax in the sitting room, perfect for television, reading, or conversation.

Governor Bradford Room

The fireplace, bed-warmer, and antique doors with their H-and-L hinges date from Colonial times. The Governor Bradford Room has a private half-bath.

Jones River Room

This inviting room has a view of the Jones River. It is furnished with magnificent yet comfortable, four poster beds, antique bureau, cabinet, and (delete-comfortable) chairs. There is a private bath a step down the hall.

Meadow Room

This pleasant room overlooks a cedar forest with walking trails. The Meadow Room has comfortable twin beds and an en suite bathroom.

Policies and Rates:
  • Ours is a smoke-free, pet-free environment.
  • Well-behaved children age nine or older are welcome.
  • Rates $95 - $130 for double occupancy ($70 - $90 single), including breakfast and taxes.
  • One night's deposit will hold the reservation.
  • Personal checks are accepted.
  • Cancellation: Two weeks' notice required for deposit refund.
  • With shorter notice, refund only if room can be rebooked.
