Introduction
Built in 1843 by Captain James Bacon Crocker, Agapé Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful example of Greek Revival architecture with wide-board floors throughout the home, wainscoting, molding, and romantic fireplaces.
During the 1860's and 70's, Captain Crocker was a trial justice, and the original courtroom is now the large bedroom in our Courtroom Suite. This room has been restored to resemble that place in time, including the stenciling we carefully retraced and the historic colored paints. After the Captain's death in 1883, the house became Courthouse Inn, and guests have been graciously welcomed since that time.
Each of our five guest rooms has a private, "ensuite" bathroom. All rooms have been completely remodeled within the last couple of years for modern comfort, including the addition of air conditioning. Antique beds charm each room, and we have modified some of them so that all will accommodate top of the line, comfortable mattresses. Some of the beds have feather beds on top for that old-fashioned puffy look. Two of the rooms feature romantic, working fireplaces, and beautiful, fresh flowers adorn each room during every season of the year.
In keeping with your enjoyment of a relaxing bed and breakfast atmosphere, there are no TV's in the bedrooms, so our guests will be able to escape from the high-tech world. You are welcome to enjoy cable TV, as well as board games, in our comfortable common area.
Share great food and conversation at our 14-foot antique oak banquet table. Hear about what other guests have loved about Cape Cod and get helpful suggestions on planning your own special day! If you are an early riser, our dining room is always open. Help yourself to a great tasting cup of coffee or tea!
Breakfast features such specialties as Captain's Eggs; puffy, oven-baked stuffed French toast; fresh bread, and a variety of tasty muffins, seasonal fruits, yogurt, and granola.
Agapé Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located in the historic village of Yarmouth Port in the Mid-Cape area. We are surrounded by several antique stores and other historic homes. Within easy walking distance are nature trails, a fresh water beach, saltwater tidal marshes with gorgeous views, fine restaurants, and an historic chapel that is the site of many intimate weddings.
