Introduction
The 1886 House is an authentic New England country farmhouse situated on 5 acres at the top of a high ridge line in historic Chesterfield, just off scenic Routes 9 & 143, "The General Lafayette Trail". We are only 12 miles from Northampton and 8 miles from Look Park.
Our B&B is small and intimate; therefore, we can provide individualized attention to your needs. We serve a hearty breakfast each morning in the dining room and include many fresh locally produced items such as, eggs, bread and milk. We will accommodate known dietary requirements. Breakfast is generally served between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., but for those who want to sleep in, a later breakfast can be arranged. When weather permits, guests can enjoy coffee or tea on the back porch with its views of fields and woods.
Chesterfield is located in the foothills of the Berkshires in the "Pioneer Valley" where you can enjoy the quiet of the country or visit many of the area's attractions.
We have three guestrooms, two of which have private baths. The first floor Rose Room has a queen bed, private bath, and overlooks a quiet meadow. On the second floor, the Chelsea Room is a large guestroom overlooking the front lawn and magnificent old trees. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed, private bath and has satellite TV and a VCR. There is another guestroom, the Meadow Room, on this floor with an antique iron double bed. The bathroom is shared. Additionally a reduced rate is available for booking this room and the Chelsea Room while sharing that bath. We have many amenities for our guests, including robes, slippers and extra towels.
Small town hospitality and picturesque rural charm.
