Introduction

Old stonewalls crisscross the property while ancient maples shade the house in the summer and provide a private color show in the fall. A beautiful country setting...

...yet central to all Berkshire attractions, the Jonathan Foote 1778 House is a dignified old home that invites you to relax and enjoy the Berkshires.

Jonathan Foote moved to Massachusetts from Connecticut in 1772 when he built a log cabin just west of the present house, which was constructed in 1778. The house, of post and beam construction, retains many of its original eighteenth century features including wide plank floors, twelve over twelve paned windows, antique hardware and four fireplaces.

A huge stone hearth complete with beehive oven welcomes you to the Great Room. There you can relax with a good book, chat with new friends, or toast your love with a complimentary glass of Chardonnay or port.

Porch A full homemade breakfast, served on fine china and linens is served throughtout the year. During the warmer months, enjoy the view from our covered porch as you savor breakfast , chat with friends or enjoy the daily newspaper. On colder days, our 18th century parlor, lovingly furnished with fine antiques, is where our bountiful breakfast and JoAnn's famous cookies are served and enjoyed. Porch
