 The Plantation Room |
The Plantation Room, the name of our grandest room references the origins of the Southern Comfort Bed and Breakfast. A perfect room for those who want to spread out in the adjoining parlor or convert the second room into a second bedroom. The master bedroom with hardwood floors and oriental rugs has a queen Belmont Plantation bed, sofa, writing desk and large antique armoire. the seven foot windows allows light to pour into the room and overlooks the private gardens and pond of the innkeepers. The adjoining room has casement windows with a tropical view. The trundle bed in the second room can be used for lounging or accommodating two additional guests. For the ultimate in comfort and privacy, this room is located in the back of the cottage overlooking the gardens and fountain. The cypress shuttered windows overlook the garden filled with sweet olive, banana trees and lush tropical vegetation. The gentle bubbling sounds of the fountain outside the windows will lull you to sleep at night. The room is decorated with a four-poster pineapple Queen bed and dresser and handsome bedside secretary. The adjoining bathroom with a tub/shower combination is large with ventilation fans. Named after the plantation where the cottage was built. This is a large room in the center of the house. With eleven foot ceilings and a mahogany inlay floor, inviting fireplace with original mantle and tiles, this bedroom transports you back to New Orleans heyday of opulence and grace. Your privacy is enhanced by thick burgundy drapes which frame the queen size mahogany sleigh bed providing you with a sense of tranquility and luxury. The oak armoire and dresser allows you to unpack and unwind in this special room. The romantic bathroom decorated in soothing colors and soft fabrics continues the theme of the bedroom with the original porcelain pedestal sink and claw foot tub outfitted with shower attachment.
