The Southern Comfort, a New Orleans bed and breakfast in Uptown/Garden District, was built in 1910 on the land of the Bouligny Plantation and has maintained its vintage charm while incorporating modern day conveniences to meet all of your needs. From its eleven foot cove ceilings, oak and mahogany inlaid floors and paneled pocket cypress doors, the architectural details of the inn provides a glimpse of the beauty and craftsmanship of times gone by. With three guest rooms, lush gardens and common areas furnished in period pieces, our guests can enjoy all the special touches of this beautiful plantation cottage while taking advantage of the personal attention only a small bed and breakfast can provide. Just two blocks from St. Charles Avenue and its famous streetcar, guests have easy access to the French Quarter, Tulane and Loyola Universities, the Garden District, Morial Convention Center, Magazine Street, and the vibrant shopping and nightlife of Uptown. |

| Common Rooms - Our guests feel as if they are staying in a home and not just a room. As you enter the inn, our front parlor is a sun-filled room welcoming you to relax in our oversized couches and browse through the books, tourist guides and magazines we have available for you. The front room is the perfect spot to revive yourself after a day or seeing the sights and preparing for night on the town. We have many brochures about local points of interest and are happy to help you plan your day. |

Dining Room - Off the main hall is our dining room with tall windows allowing the eastern light to fill the room. Breakfast is served daily offering seasonal fresh fruit, hot home cooked entrees and pastries. Enjoy each others company and linger over that second cup of coffee around the table with new made friends or wander out to the veranda and enjoy the porch swing and the smell of wisteria. |
| Front Porch - Glide on our porch swing and watch the world go by. We are only two blocks from St. Charles Avenue yet it feels as if you are in the middle of the country. A perfect spot for sipping a glass of wine, reading a book or just letting your mind drift. Birds singing, gentle breezes, the scents of Sweet Olive trees are all waiting for you. |

All of the rooms at our New Orleans bed & breakfast were renovated with your comfort and privacy in mind. Central air conditioning and heat insures you have a cool respite from the Louisiana heat and stay warm when the wet winds blow. We offer radio/alarm clocks, cable televisions with DVD players in every room. Each guest room has a private bathroom which is well appointed with blow dryers and high quality soaps, shampoos and lotions. Dry off from a soak in the tub with our thick luxurious towels, get ready for a night on the town or curl up with a good book or borrow a DVD from our extensive library to watch in your room. If you bought your laptop, spread out and plug-in effortlessly as the entire inn is Wi-Fi. Each of our three guest rooms have unique qualities yet all share attention to detail, respect for the architectural history of the cottage, and comfort for our guests. |
