Introduction
Maison des Amis is a Caribbean/Creole residence overlooking lush landscaped gardens, which lead to a charming white gazebo that sits over the legendary Bayou Teche. Built around 1870/1880 and known as the "Boudier" house, the center portion of the structure - a circa 1810 two-room bousillage (adobe mud and moss) is the oldest historic structure in town along with the "City Hotel." The abandoned and boarded up home was bought and restored in the mid 1990's. Upon completion, the state historical and preservation department approved its nomination and placed it on the National Register of Historic Places.
Less than two blocks from the center of town, Maison des Amis is located in the downtown historic district of Breaux Bridge; one block from antique stores, gift shops, restaurants, and cafes.
Guests can relax in or outside the glassed-in porch and sunroom. We provide complimentary beverages and daily maid service with a personal touch. General tour information is available. Upon request, our manager can create a tailored tour to meet your personal needs.
