This Nineteenth Century neighborhood has enjoyed a renaissance in the last few years, with many artists, film makers, musicians, and writers calling it home. Coffee shops, bakeries and cafes dot the street corners. Sunday mornings bring competing chimes from the old Catholic and Lutheran churches.

The house is a two bay Greek Revival townhouse built in 1860. The front of the house was updated with large Victorian brackets and decorative quoins sometime in the 1880's or 1890's. Ceiling medallions, marble and cypress mantles, and the curved walnut and cypress stairway are original to the house.

Your hosts, Kate Hinds and Dave Meeks, are real estate agents specializing in historic New Orleans properties. They have carefully restored the two guest rooms, retaining all of the charm while insuring modern comforts.

Living Area

The upstairs room features ten foot ceilings, a queen size bed, separate sitting room, a newly tiled shower, and an outside gallery overlooking the typically lush New Orleans garden.

The downstairs room has twelve foot ceilings, a queen size bed and a claw foot tub with shower. Guests are welcome to lounge in the parlor, formal dining room or the garden.
