North American Cottage
The North American Cottage
The North American Cottage is a located in the courtyard with direct access to our garden. The cottage pre-dates the main house and was moved to the property from a nearby plantation to be used as the construction foreman's quarters while the house was being built. Later uses included a Garsonire and Milk house. It was designed as a quiet, secluded get-a-way and to accommodate our physically challenged friends. It has a small mini-bar with refrigerator, microwave and one-cup pod gourmet coffee maker.
In contrast to the main house, the cottage celebrates the "New World". It is furnished with classic American Shaker style furnishings and James J. Audubon lithographs adorn the walls. The queen size bed is outfitted with 400 count cotton bedding and is piled high with an assortment of pillows to pamper you. The private porch over looks the garden and beckons you to sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere after a hard day of sightseeing in the French Quarter.
The bathroom is accessed through antique cypress French doors with frosted glass inserts and the dark, rich cypress walls evoke an era gone by. It is equipped with a two person, walk-in / roll-in shower.
