New York Times This beautiful Gothic Revival house, which was built in 1853 by Theodore Brown, incorporates distinctive features from a design by A. J. Downing, as shown in the 1850 publication, "The Architecture of Country Houses." Elaborately carved woodwork, winding staircases and spacious rooms, tastefully decorated with antiques, handcrafts and a touch of whimsy, combine to create a truly special atmosphere.

Elegantly restored guest rooms are furnished with careful attention to detail. Twelve foot, nine inch high ceilings and overscaled windows flood these rooms with light. Step back into the 1850's and treat yourself to the conveniences of the present and the special touches of your host... fresh flowers, scrumptious food and comfortable luxury. Reasonable rates include a full gourmet breakfast, made with fresh local products and served in the formal dining room. Our breakfast is a real treat and now we feature omeletes on our already great selection menu. Plus, to allow some of our weekend guests to sleep in - we have extended our breakfast hours from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday mornings. Woodhaven also has three common areas full of books and magazines for your enjoyment. Complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available. Outside the inn you can view our lovely gardens from any of our three porches.

The original Carriage House has been recently restored. Charm and coziness have been retained along with the addition of modern conveniences.
