Introduction

Built in 1843, A Storybook Inn is located in the historic Rose Hill section of quaint downtown Versailles, Kentucky. Nestled amid lush grounds, the main house ushers visitors into a stately entrance hall where they are warmly made welcome.

A Storybook Inn is minutes from the famed picturesque Keeneland Racecourse, where the sport of kings is still "racing as it was meant to be." Though minutes from historic downtown Lexington, fine dining, vineyards, horse farms and historic sites such as Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, A Storybook Inn is a quiet respite from the rest of the world. The Library is well stocked with books, over a dozen premiere monthly magazines, daily newspaper, classic movies, bird guides & guest computer. High speed Internet is available as well!

We offer lovely grounds with paths and benches for walks, reading, daydreaming, birdwatching or playing lawn games. There is a beautifully restored 100+ year old stone pond with waterfalls and lovely water lilies and hyacinth. Sit on the curved teak bench beside the ivy covered wall along the Koi stocked pond and enjoy a book to the sound of the waterfalls and singing birds. For more active guests, the Lovely Big Spring Run Park with 2-mile walking trail is behind Inn.

Enjoy leisurely gourmet breakfasts in our beautiful and inviting, European-style dining room. Homemade goodies (cookies or homemade cake and fresh fruit with tea or coffee) are served in the common area and in the evenings. Refreshments are available at all times.

The rooms at A Storybook Inn all have private baths and queen or king size beds. All rooms contain armoires with television and VCR, desks, walk-in closets and mini-refrigerators. And, at over 7,000 sq. ft., A Storybook Inn also features a working elevator!

A Storybook Inn is taking reservations for the 2008 season. We are closed from December 23rd until Valentine's Day, February 14, 2008. However, we will still be taking reservations via email and voice mail. You will receive a confirmation of availability via email, or telephone if you do not have email available. We are booking for Keeneland in the Spring and next fall.
