Explore a little bit of the Bluegrass from The Inn at J&M Stables. The Inn is a lovely two-bedroom loft apartment above a 12-stall thoroughbred horse barn. You'll find unparalleled tree-top views of J&M's thoroughbred operation and Kentucky's rolling hills. After a day of business or seeing the sights come on back to the Inn and wander down to the creek. Kids of all ages love hunting crawdads. Or, bring your book and relax on the bench while the water rushes by. After dark we can set up a bon fire for a night of ghost stories and roasted marshmallows. If a bon fire is too adventurous, spend some time on the deck admiring the millions of stars before you dive into one of our comfy pillow-top beds. |

The Inn at J&M Stables is a fully furnished 2-bedroom apartment: Each bedroom has a pillow top queen bed. Each bed has 1000 count cotton sheets a cozy comforter and extra blankets. The kitchen has full-size appliances and a stocked pantry with all the staples. Our coffee is the world's best. Chosen by true coffee snobs and flown in from Caffe Appassionato in Seattle. In the bathroom you'll find a standard tub and shower, a separate toilet and a washer and dryer, with laundry soap provided. All linens are provided. The office has a DSL line for your computer and a variety of office supplies. The office sits just behind the kitchen. The living room has lofted ceilings and sky lights and lots of room for stretching out. The color television has 100 satellite channels. There is also a lending library. Borrow one, or take one of ours and leave one of yours. |

In the cupboards you'll find lots of games and craft materials for rainy days. The huge Deck is 36' by 12' with a table and chairs to lounge in or enjoy coffee from in the morning. From the deck you get a bird's eye view of the thoroughbred operation and Kentucky's rolling hills. Up near the barn is a play set with a slide, swings and fort for the younger kids. However, the real fun is down at the creek. The property boasts 1/4 mile of Clear Creek with lots of shallow pools for catching frogs, crawdads, even small fish, turtles and snakes. Take our advice and give a wide berth to the giant snapping turtles. They're not called snapping turtles for nothing! Tours can be arranged for you at some of the larger horse farms. We highly recommend Three Chimneys and Ashford Stud, both within twenty minutes drive time. Wildside Vines is just around the corner with wine tasting and Boyds Orchard has all the local fruits and vedgetables plus a huge gift store and only five minutes away. The Perfect location to experience rural Kentucky's horse country! And only 10 minutes from Keeneland and the airport. 20 minutes from Lexington. |
