Enjoy a return to a bygone time of calm and gracious luxury. Highland House Bed & Breakfast is an elegant example of the Creative Eclectic style of architecture. The property, listed on the National Register of Historic Places was originally called Richlawns, an 800 acre farm built by Ralph Barker in 1923. The Highland House is furnished in turn of the century style with many antiques, and the 5 acres of gardens complete with walking paths and secluded benches complement its setting on the banks of the Ohio River. Highland House Bed & Breakfast is located on the outskirts of Carrollton, Kentucky, a historic town at the confluence of the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers. For the comfort of all our guests, there is No Smoking in the Highland House. RM Barker Room $145/night Frances and Easlake rooms $125/night.

Conveniently close to Interstate 71 and approximately 1 hour from Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington. Carrollton makes a good location to enjoy the many amenities of Northern Kentucky.

Enjoy racing, boating, fishing, hunting, shopping, State Parks (Big Bone Lick and General Butler), golfing, biking or hiking locally all located in Carroll County. Also, a short drive along the Ohio River takes you to Madison, Indiana, a mecca for river history buffs and antiques lovers. Also nearby are Indy, NASCAR racing at Kentucky Speedway and the Riverboat Casino.
