The dark red brick, circa 1910, Arts and Crafts house sits on a corner in the tree lined Buena Vista area, where streets are divided into boulevards by leafy medians. So even though this is technically suberbia, the atmosphere is much more park like.
The birds are especially tuneful around Helton House because as much time has been devoted to the plantings and landscaping of the surrounding garden as to the decor and furnishings of the house.

On weekends, Grace wields her cast iron skillet to whip up real, old fashioned milk gravy to serve over fluffy, homemade buttermilk biscuits. The plate will include lean succulent country ham, eggs and fried apples. A basket of strawberry bread or muffins complete the table. No need to ever think about lunch after this breakfast!
