Introduction
Designated as a Kentucky Landmark in 1984, the Fairchild House is a low Queen Anne Victorian house designed by the architectural firm of Barber and Kluttz (George F. Barber) of Knoxville, Tennessee, for W. F. Fairchild. A local businessman and banker, he moved his family into this Monticello, Kentucky house in September 1906. The house is located minutes from Lake Cumberland.
Bring your books or your gift of gab and relax on our wrap-around porch. Forgot your books? Not to worry, we have a large collection of paperbacks (from mysteries to the latest Nora Roberts novels) for your reading enjoyment. If you don't finish, you can even take them home!
Rooms
The Fairchild House has three bedrooms, named for the granddaughters of W. F. Fairchild. The house has its original poplar floors and all original woodwork.
Grace's Room has a full-sized bed and a private bath.
Joyce's Room features a king-sized bed and seating area, as well as a updated detached private bath.
Caroline's Room features a queen-sized bed and sitting area, as well as an updated detached private bath.

Policies
Should you need to cancel your reservation, please do so at least 3 days in advance. We do, however, fully understand emergencies and will work with you. If it is too late to rebook the room, we will process the charge for one night.

The Fairchild House is a smoke-free facility, however, smoking is allowed on the porch.
Boat and trailer parking is available. There are two major boat ramps within 15 miles (Conley Bottom and Beaver Lodge). These will be accessible during the repair of Wolf Creek Dam.
