On your next visit to Louisville, we invite you to stay at the historic Samuel Culbertson Mansion. Completed in 1897, this National Register mansion was originally the home of one of Victorian Louisville’s most influential tycoons, twenty years the president or chairman of the board of the famous Churchill Downs race track, and also once the home of the Two Little Knights of Kentucky. The 15,000 square foot mansion is richly furnished with American, European and oriental antiques representing the last five centuries, many still original to the building. Our spacious guest rooms each have an antique bed, stately fireplace, large private tile and marble Victorian bath, and an original walk-in closet. Our hearty traditional Kentucky breakfast is served on fine porcelain, and is certain to provide you well for the start of the day. We are located in the heart of the Old Louisville historic district on the city’s former millionaire’s row, just a short carriage ride from the center of the city, Churchill Downs, museums, and the airport. Whether you’re coming to Louisville for business or for pleasure, we promise a memorable and comfortable stay.
