Introduction
Cedar Lodge is nestled in the hills of southeastern Kentucky, far from the hustle and bustle of life. Sitting on a forested rise in Clay County, between Manchester and Big Creek, along the former Daniel Boone (now Hal Rogers) Parkway, you will find us 4.5 miles East from the Manchester exit, on Chat Branch, just off Route 421 (a.k.a. Route 80).
The spectacular house, designed by a nationally known architect, was featured in Better Homes & Gardens and the PBS show Hometime. The lodge features three tastefully decorated bedrooms, two of which share a bath on the first floor. Our spacious second floor suite has its own fireplace and bathroom with a large tiled shower and separate bath tub. All bedrooms have cable TV. Our living room features a fireplace with a hand cut stone hearth, salvaged from the old property farm house. A screened smoking porch is located just behind it.
Marian Nelson, a retired school teacher from Pennsylvania, will be your hostess. She has prepared the living area with relaxation in mind. Books and puzzles are available if you desire a quiet evening. Enjoy a restful night's sleep and in the morning choose a sit-down, home-style breakfast or, if you want a special treat, have your breakfast in bed.
Enjoy A Delicious Breakfast Each Morning!

Located in the Daniel Boone National Forest area, Manchester provides unbelievable sights with its breathtaking mountains and forests. The area’s early American heritage differentiates it from other cities. Wildlife also plays an important role in defining Manchester. The turkey and deer populations have grown tremendously throughout Clay County and just recently elk were reintroduced in the area. When visiting Manchester, it is evident that the town is known for good old-fashioned fun for the entire family. On the Virginia border, the Cumberland Gap remains as majestic as ever, as do the canyons of the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge's sandstone arches. This is home to both the "Grand Canyon of the South," at Breaks Interstate Park and the "Grand Ole Opry of Kentucky," at Renfro Valley. If you enjoy golf, you've got to play at the Big Hickory Golf Course. Excerpt from http://www.kentuckytourism.com
