Enjoy a unique experience in an overnight stay at our orginial one room schoolhouse.
|
This pre-civil war schoolhouse, now listed on The National Register of Historic Places served the small farming community of Smiths Grove, Kentucky, during the 1850's and 1860's. Children of all ages were taught the 3 "Rs" with only their writing slates, graphite pencils and McGuffey readers.
This slice of Americana with its simple charm in a peaceful setting, makes the perfect temporary getaway for those seeking a return to a by gone era. This Schoolhouse Cabin has all the comforts of today, such as queen size bed, private bath, microwave oven and refrigerator, AC, TV and your own private deck overlooking acres of rolling meadows and horse pastures. However, the sense of history and charm of a past era cannot be mistaken.
Guest accommodations include deluxe breakfast, beverage bar, and free cave tours. Also enjoy nature on our walking trails. Rate: $85.00 per night plus tax.
