Within a few minutes guests can experience the Country Club Plaza, authentic jazz and blues clubs, historic City Market, the American Royal or the excitement of the river boat casinos.

  • The towns of Weston, Parkville and Greenwood, Missouri provide an eclectic blend of shops and galleries. Many of the antiques in the Vickers' home were found on short day trips to these areas.
  • If your travel plans include a trip to KCI Airport, Fort Leavenworth or to Kansas University in Lawrence, you will find it an easy 30 minute drive.
  • The Bonner Springs area boasts of Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, the Agricultural Hall of Fame and the annual Renaissance Festival.
  • Nearby is the Westglen 18 movie theater, Harley-Davidson store, Wagners Classic Cars and the Moon Marble Co. which features a wide selection of nostalgic toys & games, antiques and marble making demonstrations. Our newest neighbor, the Kansas International Speedway is slated to open in the year 2001.
  • Other points of interest include the Grinter House, historic Harris House and Holy-Field Vineyard and Winery.

There are several options for activities on the grounds. Fishing poles and supplies are found in a quaint "tackle house" beside the pond. You might be drawn to the hiking trail through the woods, or to a friendly game of horseshoes.

A wrap around veranda, spacious second floor accommodations, antique leaded glass and unique fixtures are tastefully integrated into this peaceful retreat. A handcrafted curved staircase, with window seat and antique stained glass leads to the guest rooms.

After allowing time to awaken to a fresh Kansas morning, you will want to satisfy your appetite. The French doors of the "Sunroom" are open to invite you to a hearty breakfast.

This beautiful room, which overlooks the kitchen herb garden, features towering stacked windows and a twelve foot high tin ceiling.

Enjoy your first cup of coffee in the privacy of your room or take it with you as you stroll through the herb garden and by the pond. Pause a moment at the arbor swing to watch the ducks and other wildlife.

The breakfast schedule for weekday travelers is flexible. Weekend breakfasts will be served at approximately 9:15 AM. Also on weekends, a gourmet appetizer will be served from 5:30 to 6:00 as you get acquainted with other guests and relax. Later in the evening dessert will be offered.
