Lyons Twin Mansions of Fort Scott, Kansas are landmark treasures built in 1876 and wrapped by three acres of gardens and big shade trees. The identical mansions stand majestically on the northwest corner of 8th & National Avenue in historic Fort Scott, Kansas, just an hour south of Kansas City. Today Lyons Twin Mansions offer the most contemporary of amenities, enveloped in the grandeur of Italianate architecture and elegant comforts of Victorian finery. Both solid brick Mansions are trimmed in the original classical millwork of quarter-sawn oak, native black walnut, Honduras mahogany and redwood and feature ornate beveled and leaded, stained and curvilinear glass. Twins indeed - but each has their own distinct personality and expression of function. |
