Log Cabin Retreat at Marshview - A Kansas Bed & Breakfast The Log Cabin Retreat at Marshview is A Special Get-away! Stay awhile and enjoy great meals in the heart of a unique area of north central Kansas. Immerse yourself in a hide-away Great Plains natural setting with 10 acres set in beautiful rolling pastureland. This is part of a larger 122 acre tract. It has deep draws and small hills, hillside vistas, and magnificent overlooks to the Sportsmans Lake salt marsh and the Jamestown Wildlife Refuge.

Enjoy prairie nature at its finest. This is where wildlife during the day, and the stars at night, are exceptionally abundant. Revel in the freedom of expansive skies! This can be your retreat place. It also is a special mecca for birdwatchers, photographers, hunters, and nature lovers. Jim and Lynn Elliott are your owner/hosts. The owners' quarters are in the lower level of the cabin.

You'll see why this is a very special, treasured place - built with loving care by the Elliotts.

Your guest bedroom is furnished with a Select Comfort™ queen bed, complete with in-room claw-foot tub and a small washroom with lavatory and toilet. Across the hall for you is a bathroom with shower. The main great room has a living area with fireplace, satellite reception television (which has a separate TV extension in the guest bedroom), plus the dining area and kitchen. West windows of the great room provide extraordinary views of the Jamestown Wildlife Refuge, marsh and lake below. An exterior door leads to the length-of-the-cabin elevated porch.

The Log Cabin Retreat at Marshview also has a separate Bunkhouse above the proprietors' barn, which can accommodate up to 2 persons. The Bunkhouse includes a bedroom/living-kitchenette area and a bathroom with shower. The Bunkhouse may be especially suitable for hunters. It normally is rented without provided meals. The Bunkhouse offers two twin beds which can be converted into a king, a VCR/DVD, microwave, and refrigerator.

We request No Smoking inside any of the buildings.

Prices
  • Log Cabin Retreat, Guest Room with full breakfast: $125 per day
  • The Bunkhouse, without meals: $100 per day
  • Extra Meals (served in the main cabin):
  • Supper with overnight stay: $15 per person
  • Call for rates for more than 2 persons
  • Private parties can be arranged.
  • Check-In: 3 p.m., Check-Out: 11 a.m., or as arranged in advance.
