Bonner Springs is a river city located in Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties. Visitors to Bonner Springs should consider staying locally at a Bonner Springs inn or B&B Your hosts can direct you to such local attractions as Centennial Park, a beautiful park in historic downtown Bonner Springs that commemorates the city’s first 100 years, from 1898 to 1998. The park features a restored caboose that serves as a Visitor Information Center, as well as a water garden, centennial walkway with engraved bricks, limestone bench and planter bed and wheat sculpture. Another great place to visit is Kelly Murphy Park, located at Second and Elm Street, built in memory of slain police officer, Kelly Murphy. Journey from your Bonner Springs bed and breakfast to Kerry Roberts Park, on the east side of K-7 Hwy, 1/4 mile south of Kansas Avenue. The park was donated by the family of 10-year old Kerry, who was fatally injured during a baseball game. Finally, Lions Park is a 10-acre park located in the heart of the city. It has three lighted ball fields, a concession stand and restrooms, an outdoor basketball court, two shelter houses and two playgrounds. When you get hungry, try Stix Restaurant, located in the Legends Shopping Plaza in Kansas City. If you are in the mood for great local flavor, try Famous Dave's, which has great barbeque.
