Introduction
The Speedway Bed & Breakfast is the largest house in the town of Speedway - and provides a "home-away from home" for visitors to Indianapolis and the "race town" of Speedway. A historic piece of the world-renowned community, the house was originally built in 1905 on 900 acres of land. Throughout the years, much of the land around the home was sold-- and the town of Speedway built up surrounding the white plantation style estate. For over 8 years now, the property has been a bed and breakfast - serving as a secluded retreat for guests and travelers.
Guests just keep coming back to visit this beautiful property tucked away in the little town of Speedway (located on the west side of Indianapolis) where visitors enjoy true Hoosier hospitality -- complete with the following:
Hideaway suite w/large Jacuzzi & adjoining sitting room
Large gazebo and grounds for weddings and/or pictures
Meeting space - Board room (accommodating up to 20)
Wireless internet, LCD projector and overhead screen
Walking distance from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Shuttle service to and from track on race days
Down comforters/pillows and fresh flowers upon request
Be sure to book a year ahead for races and city-wide events.
Meet the Innkeepers
Don and Ann Ninness purchased the B & B about two years ago with the goal of providing a memorable experience for each and every guest. They've accomplished this by providing a "getaway" environment coupled with first class service. Don and Ann have three children, Rachel (a school teacher and living in Carmel, IN), Rebecca (still in college - aspiring to be an event planner), and Andrew (graduating from high school in May and entering the military). Upon arrival, each guest is eagerly greeted by the family pets, Tosha (10 year old Sheltie) and Sadie (Chihuahua).
Whether you're looking for the big "down home" country breakfast with biscuits/gravy, sausage, hash browns, bacon, coffee, juice and fruit - or a basic gourmet delight such as eggs benedict and scones, you won't leave the table hungry. Breakfasts are made to order daily along with special evening desserts and special occasion meals.
For Business Meetings, Retreats and Strategic Planning
Consider the Speedway Bed and Breakfast for the perfect environment for your next business meeting. The Meeting Room holds up to 20 individuals (boardroom style) - or up to 30 theatre style. Breakout sessions can be offered in other rooms, or outdoors on the gazebo and side porch. Coffee, soft drinks, and snacks are offered throughout the day, and lunch is served per request. Overnight accommodations are available for two-day training sessions. Wireless internet, an LCD projector and overhead screen are part of the package.
For the Business Traveler
Indiana is called the Crossroads of America because it is the perfect location for meeting family and friends here in the Midwest. Many families rent the entire Speedway Bed & Breakfast for such events.
For the Ladies Getaway
Ladies, enjoy the spa services of our massage therapist - Linda Echols, owner of "Massage for Moms" - after a shopping excursion downtown or a special brunch. This is our specialty! Let us know what occasion you might be celebrating and we'll help make it memorable.
For the Race Fan
Don't worry about hassling with driving or parking. We offer shuttle service to and from the track on race days.
