Introduction
Our round barn was built in 1916 by Frank & Hiram Dunham and used primarily for housing livestock & as a dairy barn. It was one of 200 or so round barns built in Indiana and is one of the few left standing. The barn was converted into a house over a period of a decade beginning in the mid '80's by Roy Gallger. It is the only round barn we are aware of anywhere that has been renovated into a house. Upon purchasing the barn in 1996, we transformed it into a bed & breakfast and opened up for business in the spring of 1997. The barn has just under 7000 square feet of living space and is furnished with a huge assortment of unique collectibles & hard-to-find antiques. A pool table & game table are available to guests as well as a library, reading loft w/TV and DVD player, and a huge stone fireplace.
4 comfortable rooms are available for lodging, each with it's own decorative theme and each with a TV & air-conditioning. Our 1,100 sq ft Hayloft Suite features a Hot Tub. We serve a hearty country breakfast each morning in the downstairs dining room. We attempt to make each of our guests feel at home in a relaxing rural atmosphere.
