Walking distance to the Ohio River,this beautiful Old Mansion is a meticulously preserved Victorian home nestled among the trees that line "Mansion Row" in the Historic District of New Albany. The Mansion was built 11 years before the Civil War by Levi Ferry. On "Mansion Row" you will find stately old mansions built and occupied during the later half of the 19th Century by river boat captains who traveled the Ohio River, wealthy merchants, industrialists, prominent businessmen and philanthropists. In 1850 New Albany was the largest city in all of Indiana located just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1813 by Joel, Abner and Nathaniel Scribner and is steeped in tradition, boasting a rich and fascinating history with a wealth of historic sites. Honeymoon Mansion's ornate Victorian Chapel is the perfect place for your wedding. Our beautiful chapel is open to all faiths and accommodates up to 70 guests. You can have a candlelight ceremony in the chapel and spend your wedding night in one of our honeymoon suites.

The recreation offered by New Albany won't disappoint you. With over 400 acres of parkland spread out over eight city parks and a municipal swimming pool, it offers a place for every type of outdoor activity. You can enjoy a round of golf at the Valley View Golf Course, Covered Bridge Golf Club, or the Wooded View Golf Course or boating along the Ohio River. Three state parks, two caves and a winery are nearby plus many other tourist attractions. just three doors west of the Honeymoon Mansion you can tour the Culbertson Mansion built in 1869 and marvel at its restored grandeur. We are only nine miles from (the Glory of Rome) the world's largest riverboat casino with the world's largest chandelier. The rear of the mansion in 1850 overlooked the mighty Ohio River which played an important role in river travel. While you are enjoying your stay in your favoriate room "old man river just keeps rolling along." The Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center is only 10 minutes from the Mansion costing seven million dollars. The Kentucky Derby which is run the 1st Saturday in May is just across the river in Louisville. The Mansion is only 15 minutes from historic Churchhill Downs, the Derby Museum and 10 minutes from downtown Louisville.
