New Albany, Indiana (IN) Bed and Breakfast: Admiral Bicknell Inn was one of the first homes in America to have a central heat and air system which can still be seen in the walls of the rooms, with grates at floor and ceiling levels. The convex windows on the front of the house and most of the gas light fixtures are original. The large cupola was added by Admiral Bicknell in the late 1800's for a better view of the Ohio River.

The Admiral Bicknell Suite occupies the entire half of the second floor main building and has a separate living room with a large television with DVD player and view of the Ohio River and Sherman Minton Bridge. The warm bedroom has a European king size sleigh bed, fireplace, and rear access to the upper covered porch. The Cupola Suite
The Cupola Suite
 The Cupola Suite, a lovely, romantic hide away, is the only suite on the third floor. The bedroom is large with a queen size bed, television with VCR and radio/CD player, sitting area, and writing desk. The newly renovated bath has a jacuzzi tub. Enjoy a special moment taking your private spiral staircase up to the cupola for a game of backgammon and full view of the Ohio River and Sherman Minton Bridge. Rate: $199/$179

An additional lovely bedroom on the third floor with two twin beds can be reserved with the cupola suite. Rate: $89/$79

The Library is a handsome room located on the first floor with a large four poster queen size bed, separate sitting area with sofa, television with VCR, and newly renovated private bath with claw foot tub. Rate: $159/$139

The Paris Room is the Innkeeper's personal favorite and is located on the first floor with a four-poster queen size bed, fireplace with original pier mirror, leather chaise, television with VCR, and view of the Sherman Minton Bridge and Ohio River. This wonderful suite has a newly renovated bath with custom built tiled shower. Rate: $169/$149

The Sherman Minton Room has a queen size bed, television with VCR and view of the Ohio River and Sherman Minton Bridge. Just outside its door, there is access to the upper, covered porch. The large, tiled bath has a shower with double benches. Rate: $119/$99

  • Rates do not include Indiana sales tax of 6% or a 4% lodging tax.
  • Extended stay rates available.
  • We accept all major credit cards, cash and checks.
  • Payment in full of your first night's lodging guarantees your reservation. We do not normally ask for a deposit, but we ask for a credit card to hold your room. A deposit may be requested during special events or for a special guaranteed reservation. Certain events may have a minimum stay requirement.
  • Room charges will not be incurred if cancellation occurs 10 business days prior to reservation day, or we are able to rebook the room.
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off may be available for no charge.
  • Check-in: 3:00 pm, Check-out: 11:00 am, E.S.T.
  • Children over ten welcome. No pets allowed.
  • The Inn is a non-smoking facility. Smoking permitted on rear patio only.
