Recently renovated by Langguth Design, this grand old house features hand-painted walls, a sculpture garden, and a beautiful outdoor labyrinth.
The Homestead is both a bed & breakfast and a decorator's showcase. The exquisite furnishings and art change routinely, providing fresh experiences for both guests and shoppers. The historical Homestead, once the domain of Plano founding father Lewis Steward, has been fully renovated as a quaint bed & breakfast with wonderful amenities. The Grounds
The Homestead estate is situated on two acres in the heart of Plano, Illinois. Although most visitors focus on our bed & breakfast - or on our place in the history of Illinois - there's even more to love when you step outside. Nature lovers and wedding planners will enjoy our picturesque landscaping, with lush green backdrops and a recently planted hedge maze. Art lovers will admire our beautiful brick labyrinth and the distinctive contemporary sculpture garden.
The labyrinth is a perfect focus for outdoor events, especially weddings. (Imagine your wedding guests encircling the bridal party - and then picture the bride slowly walking the winding path as her husband-to-be waits in the center!) Our sculpture garden currently features the works of emerging Illinois artisans Tomek Gadawski and Steven Lockwood. Other sculptures may be on view when you visit. All art at The Homestead is available for purchase and therefore may change from visit to visit.

Decorator's Showcase
Not only is The Homestead a fabulous bed & breakfast, it is a showcase for the interior design firm of Langguth Design Ltd. This grand old house, built by Lewis Steward in 1854, has been renovated and features hand-painted walls, exquisite furnishings and fine art.
Guests and visitors are encouraged to tour the house with representatives of Langguth Design, both to shop for their own homes and to consult on remodeling services. Most of the distinctive furnishings and artworks on display at The Homestead are available for purchase.
