Welcome to Hidden Lake Bed & Breakfast! Finding just the right B&B can be a daunting task. Each B&B is so very different from the next ... which is, of course, half the fun. At Hidden Lake Bed & Breakfast, John and I (I'm Mary Jo, by the way) have tried to combine the comfort and amenities of a premier hotel with the private attention afforded by a small bed and breakfast. We also wanted to provide the elegance and luxury of an upscale establishment while retaining the relaxed and casual atmosphere of a rural setting.

Hidden Lake Bed & Breakfast is situated on twelve acres of woods, gardens and water in the midst of the Shawnee National Forest, within close proximity to all of the wineries on the popular Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Unseen from the house or the road is a two-acre lake (hence the name "Hidden Lake") complete with a pier for wetting your feet in the warmer months and a paddleboat for lazily making your way around. The lake is stocked for fishing but please practice CPR - catch, photograph, and release - so the fish are there for your next visit! Feel free to enjoy a lakeside campfire on a cool evening - John has a pile of wood always at the ready. And be sure to walk the grounds, checking out our fruit trees, our woodland walkway and our herb and flower gardens as you go. You'll find inviting benches tucked away in private corners beckoning you to "come sit a spell". As you make your way, help yourself to whatever is in season--it's all organic!

| At Hidden Lake, you have your choice of four luxury suites, each decorated with a different, yet captivating theme. Of course, all of our rooms/suites enjoy private, in-suite baths together with warm monogrammed robes, lots of fluffy towels and a host wonderful bath amenities. Most also incorporate private balconies. | Seeking more privacy? Looking for the added luxury of more spacious accommodations? Then choose one of our Guest House Suites. The Romance Jacuzzi Suite and the Country Jacuzzi Suite each offer large, two-person Jacuzzis combined with romantic fireplaces and king size beds. |

While at Hidden Lake, you have three options for breakfast. First, our "European Plan" opting out of breakfast ($20/discount/night) but still enjoying the ambiance and amenities of Hidden Lake. Second, "Breakfast in Bed" an option for those preferring to sleep late, rise very early or just desiring some additional privacy. Or third, enjoy a scrumptious three course breakfast, served from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and served in our Sun Room off the back of the Main House. overlooking the majority of our 12 acres and a host of backyard bird feeders. Should you choose to join us for breakfast, service begins with a selection of 5 juices as well as coffee, tea, soda and/or water, our 1st course incorporates the fresh fruits of the season ... Perhaps poached pears in a vanilla cream sauce? Or maybe fresh melon topped with lime mousse? Could we tempt you with fresh berry parfaits? Then we will serve up a fresh baked item prepared by the bakers at Hidden Lake - John & I! Blueberry kuechen, golden raisin puffs, raspberry tarts are just a few that our guests may enjoy. And for our last course, a wonderful hot entree and breakfast meat. My favorite? Apple-cinnamon Pannechuken - a flakey puff pancake! John's? Leek and feta frittata soufflé! But let us know your dietary preferences or just your particular likes and dislikes. We'll be happy to accommodate them all. And don't forget to check out our web site for other meal options ... a Hidden Lake picnic or backpack lunch to enjoy as you tour the wineries or enjoying some hiking and horseback riding ... or perhaps an Arrival Tray complete with chocolate dipped strawberries! |
