Introduction
Conveniently located on Interstate I-57, at the doorstep of all the area's major attractions, the Flower Patch Bed & Breakfast embellishes Arcola's old-fashioned, shady Jefferson Street that harkens back to an earlier time with its brick streets and neatly trimmed boulevards. The Flower Patch takes its name from the lovely patches of flowers which surround the house and lead to a flourishing herb garden that is frequently used to garnish and flavor the breakfast entrées.
In the spring, red and blue creeping phlox, salmon-colored geraniums, blue ageratum, and white alyssum along the entry sidewalk wave a colorful invitation to guests. The Flower Patch serves a legendary seven-course breakfast presented in the surrounding elegance of fine china and stemware. The food, the fresh herbs, the Amish grown produce, the delight of tasty, artfully presented cuisine gives guests the best breakfast experience in the area. The hospitality, the original fine art, and the uniquely decorated rooms create for travelers a sense of comfort and relaxation as though they have arrived at a place they can call home.
Featured in Midwest Living Magazine, 20 Great Weekend Getaways, Travel America, Best Weekend Drives, Country Sampler, and Country Magazine, the Flower Patch Bed and Breakfast lives up to its reputation as one of the premier experiences of a life time.
The Flower Patch provides an excellent base from which guests can visit all of the interesting area attractions, including Amish tours and dinners, activities at Rockome, live theatre, golf, and numerous annual events and festivals held in Arcola and surrounding towns. Many come to rest and relax and enjoy the quiet streets of small town America. Others seek the slow pace and unique atmosphere of the Amish community. Some want to know about Abraham Lincoln. And some look for outdoor events like bicycle riding, kayaking, and safe places to walk or run.
