Algonquin is a village located in both Kane and McHenry County, Illinois. Every June, Algonquin hosts the Conservation Community Day, which teaches the importance of conservation and nature. In October, the community celebrates the Old Time Country Harvest Festival, which has a hay ride, farmers market, and cemetery walk. The Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin is a public course that has many hazards and traps. In the winter time, enjoy snowboarding at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park, a snow area designed exclusively for snowboards. You can choose to stay at an Algonquin bed and breakfast (B&B) or an Algonquin inn. A good home brew can be found at Governor's Public House, which has good food and their own microbrewery. Port Edward has the best seafood in the area, and an outdoor patio for dining in the summer.
