| Introduction |

The Bishop's House Inn, built in the late 1800s, is a lovely reminder of Davenport's rich history as a thriving Mississippi River town. The Inn has been lovingly restored to its original splendor to serve guests as a bed and breakfast, and as an intimate setting for meetings. Constructed in the 1870's, the Bishop's House Inn received its name in reference to Bishops James Davis and Henry Rohlman, who resided in the house when it was owned by the Davenport Catholic Diocese at the beginning of the century. |
The Inn and its gardens were restored in the late 1980s, and gorgeous Victorian detail abounds inside and out, with such lovely features as decorative ceiling medallions, Italian marble mantelpieces, oak and walnut parquet floors with "starburst" insets, hand-painted and stenciled walls, and a magnificent arch framed elliptical staircase. The Inn's stunning stained glass work makes it a showplace for the elegant artistry of late-19th century window art.
Innkeeper MaryElise Cervelli sees to the day-to-day needs of the house and its guests.

Guests are invited to enjoy all public areas of the Inn. The Front Parlor and Starburst Parlor offer comfortable surroundings for guest to meet and converse. The richly furnished Dining Room provides an appropriate setting for the Inn's special breakfasts. The Library and the Gardens provide welcome seclusion after a busy day of business or activities. The Second Floor Parlor serves as a "Biz Hub" equipped with a computer and color printer for our guests, as well as a compact refrigerator with ice maker. The Inn is Wi-fi enabled. A newly added small Gift Boutique is the perfect place to pick up a special souvenir or gift! Take advantage of our early morning coffee service and afternoon snack! Laundry facilities are available. |

The Bishop's House Inn offers excellent surroundings for receptions, holiday parties, business meetings, weddings and other special events. The Inn can easily accommodate gatherings of up to 125 guests. Modern kitchen facilities are available for the use of caterers. Rental rates will be quoted based on the size of the group, type of event, and amount of space needed. |
Each of the Inn's spacious, comfortable accommodations is uniquely furnished in period antiques. All have queen-size beds, central air/steam heat, ceiling fans, hardwood floors and/or carpeting, and individual baths - featuring marble shower stalls, clawfoot tubs with shower conversions, or whirlpool tubs with showers. |
