The Amanas are a set of German colonies located near Cedar Rapids in the eastern Iowa. There are several nice B&Bs located in and around the Amana Colonies. The community's annual Winterfest, held in January, features a 5K run/walk, demonstrations, storytelling, sawing competitions and more for the whole family. Another exciting event draws dogs and their handlers from all around the area. The Iowa Heartland Midwest U-Fli Flyball Qualifier and Tournament is held in Amana at the RV Park and Event Center. Unique shops and a picturesque town square draw travelers to Iowa County, only minutes west of Amana in Williamsburg. Also located in Williamsburg, the Tanger Outlet Center is the place to be to shop for name-brand items at closeout prices.
