A Walking tour of Volcano Village

Sunday Farmer's Market in the village's community center, an array of local baked goods, tropical fruits and homemade prepared foods.

Local restaurants and cafes with menus ranging from plate lunches and picnic fare to formal gourmet offerings.

Gift shops and art galleries boasting prized local talents.

A convenient general store, post office and gas stations.

One mile away is the entrance to the Volcano National Park. Truly a natural wonder and often times awesome spectacle. Walk over just cooled lava to witness the earth's most active volcano, Kilauea Volcano.

Not to be missed

Historic Hilo Town. A walk along the waterfront shopping district will find quaint shops, restaurants, museums, farmers markets and beautiful waterside parks to mention a few of Hilo's charming sites.

A spectacular drive along the Hamakua Coast with views of Mauna Kea, the highest peak in the Pacific Ocean, (often times snow capped in the winter months), waterfalls in lush tropical forests, picture-book ocean vistas and charming Hawaiian towns dotting the countryside are like a step back in time.
