For special party occasions, reunions or retreats, both our Bamboo Orchid Cottage home and our nearby private vacation rental home, Volcano Tree-House, may be rented, with advance notice. This can accommodate a total of up to 20 people. Your rental will include breakfast preparations and special amenities. There is a three-night minimum stay on entire home rentals. We can also arrange for a special catered lunch or dinner for an additional charge. E-mail or call to discuss and to plan your special event.

Bamboo Orchid Cottage Bed & Breakfast is located in the storybook village of Volcano, Hawaii, a community of artists, writers and scientists. We are secluded in the forest yet just 5 minutes to the entrance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with its spectacular hiking trails, scenic vistas and lava viewing. Volcano is 29 miles from the Hilo airport and 96 miles from Kailua-Kona.

After a refreshing night's sleep, and the anticipation of a great day ahead, what could be better than to arrive at the table with a sumptuous breakfast all ready for you. In the cool rainforest we like to start our day in style. A warm fire in the fireplace, soft wake up music and steaming cups of that famous estate grown Kona coffee or our own blended herb teas.

Save your appetite for a hearty and mouth-watering breakfast spread served each morning in the sunny dining room overlooking the forest and gardens. A bountiful, candle-lit table brimming with tropical goodies awaits you. The menu is seasonal, but always includes a bounty of fresh picked in-season island fruit from local farms. All rooms feature deluxe handmade artisan beds, quality Sealy bedding, fine linens and a range of spa amenities you'd find in an expensive resort hotel, but at half the price. Choose from a variety of rooms at the main house or from unique private cottages at our sister property. There is something for every budget. Afternoon treats, an assortment of beverages, and personalized service to help make your vacation memorable are always complimentary.

In keeping with Hawaiian custom, we ask that you remove your shoes in the house. Feel free to bring your own slippers, or use the clean slippers or socks provided in a basket at the entrance. We are home to a friendly, well behaved dog, who never enters the guest bedrooms but loves to be petted in the common areas. He will try his best to help ease your withdrawals of leaving your own pets at home.
