Wake to the sound of rain forest birds in our spacious home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Get away from it all in a quiet, relaxed setting. Enjoy walking through our grounds which include palm, bamboo, fruit and ohia trees with hundreds of orchids and tropical flowers. With vaulted ceilings and plenty of windows, the accommodations are bright and airy. The house is newly renovated and decorated with high quality art - local as well as other art we have collected over the years. There are fresh orchids throughout. We are conveniently located 15 miles from Hilo & 25 miles from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Some of the local attractions include waterfalls, botanical gardens, zoo, hiking trails, hot ponds, Lava Tree State Park, and black sand beaches. Breakfast includes local and home grown fruit, our own macadamia nut granola, ham, hard-boiled eggs from our free range chickens, homemade muffins, Hawaiian honey and marmalade, smoothies, and coffee from our back yard! Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you.

The common area features our new hot tub located by a Hawaiian style rock wall. The courtyard has a water feature complete with pond and waterfall. There is a large living room with game table and lots of games, library, Hawaii guide books, phone, WiFi, and high speed internet. A screened-in balcony and breakfast nook overlook the front yard. Kitchenette and washer/dryer are available for guest use. Several neighbors are massage therapists and we will be happy to make an appointment for you. The house and grounds are completely non-smoking.

Enjoy our diverse collection of original artwork and perhaps make some yourself! Classes and art supplies are available in fused, slumped, and stained glass art, basket making, marbling, paper making, painting and mosaics.

Each of our three rooms has a private bath, satellite TV with DVD player, ceiling fan, plenty of large fluffy towels, shampoo, lotion, bubble bath, hair dryer, clock radio, and reading lamps.

We are located in the rain forest on the East side of the Big Island of Hawaii. We are 15 miles from Hilo, 25 miles from Volcano National park, midway between Pahoa and Kea'au, 6 miles mauka (up hill) from the ocean.

After leaving the Hilo airport go left on Kanoelehua (Hwy 11). You will pass the mall and shopping centers. Continue 5 miles to a traffic light at the 130/11 intersection. Turn left towards Pahoa/Kalapana.

Go another 5 miles and turn right on Orchidland drive. There is a mini mart (Wiki Wiki) and gas station on Orchidland. Continue up Orchidland to 39th Ave. Turn right onto 39th (an unpaved road). We are located almost a mile down 39th on the left side. There are two rock columns and an address in front.
