2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 8-ounce loaf French bread
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon, to taste
Lightly grease a 9" x 13" baking dish. In a small saucepan over medium heat,
heat the corn syrup, butter and brown sugar until butter is melted and mixture
is smooth, about 3 minutes. Pour into prepared pan. Slice bread and place
in pan as tightly as possible.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, salt and cinnamon.
Pour over the bread mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning, preheat oven to 350° and bake for 35 minutes, until firm.
